Bicyklovanie prináša množstvo benefitov, ktoré môžu obohatiť váš život. Či už chcete zlepšiť svoju kondíciu, šetriť životné prostredie alebo znížiť finančnú záťaž na svojom bankovom účte, začať bicyklovať je správne rozhodnutie.

1. Získavate zdravotné benefity

Je všeobecne známe, že pravidelné bicyklovanie pomáha zlepšovať zdravotný stav a predlžovať život. V kombinácii so správnou výživou výrazne napomáha spaľovať tuky, zvyšuje našu vytrvalosť, svalovú silu a pružnosť. Okrem iného stimuluje a zlepšuje krvný obeh, funkciu srdca a pľúc. Pri bicyklovaní nezapájame len svaly na nohách, práve naopak, zapojené sú všetky časti nášho tela. Pravidelná cyklistika pomáha predchádzať rozličným chorobám a celkovo posilňuje imunitu. Aktívny pohyb má zároveň priaznivý vplyv nielen na fyzickú kondíciu, ale i duševné zdravie. Uvoľňuje stres, napätie a úzkosť a pomáha udržať čistú myseľ.

2. Neznečisťujete životné prostredie

Najväčším svetovým problémom je znečisťovanie životného prostredia. Rozličné formy dopravných prostriedkov, ako napríklad autá, autobusy či vlaky, spôsobujú nielen znečistenie okolia, ale tiež značne zvyšujú hluk okolia. Bicykle životné prostredie nezaťažujú – radia sa medzi vozidlá s nulovými emisiami a zároveň sú veľmi tiché.

3. Šetríte financie

Okrem počiatočných nákladov na bicykel a doplnky (ktoré sú napríklad v porovnaní s autom stále mnohonásobne nižšie) či prípadného servisu neminiete žiadne ďalšie financie. Bicykel nepotrebuje žiadne palivo, preto jazdíte prakticky zadarmo.

4. Sami si určujete trasu

Na bicykli si určujete sami, kam sa vyberiete a akou cestou pôjdete. Na miesta do 5 km sa bicyklom dostanete najrýchlejšie zo všetkých dopravných prostriedkov. Zároveň prídete aj na miesta, ktoré sú príliš ďaleko na pešiu chôdzu, alebo kde sa nemožno dostať napríklad autom či autobusom. Jazdou na bicykli sa tiež vyhnete nepríjemným dopravným zapchám vo väčších mestách.

5. Šetríte priestor

Cyklisti šetria priestor. Kým jedno parkovacie miesto celé zaberie auto, bicyklov sa môže naň zmestiť až desať. Takýmto spôsobom tiež cyklisti zmenšujú dopravné zápchy – čím sa pomer bicyklov voči autám zvyšuje, tým sú zápchy, pochopiteľne, menšie. Nemalou výhodou je tiež jednoduché domáce uskladnenie.

6. Aktívne trávite čas s rodinou

Bicyklovanie je výborný spôsob, ako aktívne tráviť čas s rodinou, partnerom či priateľmi. Cyklistika je vhodná pre všetky vekové kategórie – vrátane najmenších drobcov, ktorých môžete vziať do sedačky či cyklovozíka.

7. Vytvárate si pozitívnu závislosť

Ak bicyklujete pravidelne, vytvárate si príjemný zvyk a pozitívnu závislosť. Neraz tak môžete nahradiť svoje doterajšie škodlivé závislosti za omnoho príjemnejšiu alternatívu. Vďaka pozitívnej závislosti na bicyklovaní môžete byť zdravší, menej unavení, vytrvalejší, ale aj šťastnejší. Podľa prieskumov sú totiž cyklisti až trikrát šťastnejší než vodiči áut.
